The customer provides construction documentation, site surveys and other portfolio-wide services all over the USA, Canada to a large variety of clients. DIN Engineering has cultivated a strong bond with the client spanning 5+ years.
The customer sought DIN for the Store mapping of different state locations within US State. Objective of the project is to provide Site Survey solutions. Capturing and labelling different equipment according to provided survey images in bulk presented a significant challenge. The sheer volume of equipment, coupled with the need for accurate labelling and alignment with survey data, made the task complex and time-consuming. Additionally, ensuring consistency in labelling across various equipment types and locations posed a challenge for our client, as did the potential for errors or discrepancies between the survey images and the actual equipment.
To address this challenge, DIN devised a comprehensive solution focused on creating a detailed
Example Book/Blocks for use in Revit. Firstly, we analyzed the survey images to identify all
equipment types and their respective locations. Next, we developed standardized labelling
protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy across the board.
Equipment categorization was carefully done within the Example Book, making it easy for
designers and drafters to reference and incorporate them into their Revit models. By providing
a standardized library of equipment blocks, we streamlined the modelling process, reduced the
likelihood of errors, and ensured alignment with the provided survey data. Overall, this
approach facilitated efficient and accurate capturing and labelling of equipment, enhancing the
quality and precision of our Revit models.
